Unforgettable 5K

Due to possible inclement weather on race day, Sunday April 6th, in the hope of staying ahead of the worst of it we are moving the race start time up from 12:00 noon to 10:00 a.m. Hopefully this will not inconvenience anyone too much. Registration and packet pick up are at 8:30 a.m.

About This Activity

The 2nd annual Zachary M. Negrón Unforgettable 5K Trail Race occurs Sunday, April 6, 2025. This race is a family-friendly event with a competitive edge. The 5K is timed with a chip for those wanting some competition! This year, we are making it possible for the youngest runners to participate by including in the day’s festivities with a Fun Run, which will allow those in second grade or younger to run.

We run in honor of two causes. The Unforgettable Foundation of Tennessee assists at-risk and grieving families with finances to help them afford a timely and dignified funeral for their children. The Zachary M. Negrón Memorial Scholarship gives scholarships to a select number of students at Georgia-Cumberland Academy who mirror the traits of perseverance and hard work, characteristics Zachary embraced as a student at GCA to accomplish his goals.

Entry Fee

Please register by March 2 to ensure receiving a t-shirt of the size you request. For later registrations, we will do our best to accommodate your request, but cannot guarantee it. We encourage all participants to pre-register as we are trying to not have to take "day-of" registrants. This helps us have enough medals and t-shirts available for everyone.

Run Start Time:

5K 12:00 pm

The Race begins and ends at the soccer field on GCA campus, located at 397 Academy Drive, S.W. Calhoun, GA 30701. The course is a trail run with flat and undulating terrain.

Parking
Please park at Coble Elementary School parking lot or at the main GCA parking lot and arrive at least 30-45min prior to your race. We start on time!

Registration & Packet-Pick Up
Race Day Registration/packet-pick up starts at 10:00 am and concludes at 11:45 am at the main GCA Parking Lot.

First, second, and third-place finishers will receive trophies in the following categories:

Male Female

Overall Winners 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place.

Youth, 8 - 18 yrs. 1st Place. 1st Place.

Young Adult, 19 - 39 yrs. 1st Place. 1st Place.

Masters, 40+ yrs. 1st Place. 1st Place.

All Kids Fun Run participants will receive a t-shirt and participation medallion.
